In July of 2004, I (Jessica) made a trip to visit Kenya. A college friend, Carri, was stationed there as a Peace Corps volunteer. She and her husband, Zabu, gave me and two other college friends (Trish and Krissy) the grand tour of Kenya. I had a wonderful time, and I want to thank Carri and Zabu for all that they did!!

It took about 16 hours to travel from New York to Nairobi. Nairobi is incredibly interesting. Modern life is shoulder to shoulder with extreme poverty, and the city balances hot dance clubs and cosmopolitan coffee shops with orphan beggars and rampant theft. Government corruption has only made the situation worse.
